Exclusive 9-1-1 preview clip: Eddie Diaz and son Christopher share rare conversation about Shannon
9-1-1 season six episode 15 airs on Monday April 24
Two things are true in life: death and taxes. It's a theme that this week's episode of Fox drama 9-1-1 plays with, as the 118 are called to a living funeral and a fire at a tax accountant's office.
Death is also something Christopher Diaz (Gavin McHugh) the young son of firefighter Eddie Diaz (Ryan Guzman), has far too much knowledge of; his mom Shannon died in season two, and this exclusive preview clip from Monday April 24's episode reveals a brief glimpse into the ways Eddie and Christopher continue to grieve, and honor, Shannon.

Most recently, in one heartbreaking scene, Christopher also argued to be given the chance to visit Buck in hospital - after the firefighter was struck by lightning and left in a coma fighting for his life - and gave an impassioned plea to his father's best friend to wake up and come back to them.
Elsewhere in the episode Sergeant Athena Grant (Angela Bassett) is shocked when a suspect dies in her custody minutes after she arrests him, and Maddie Buckley (Jennifer love Hewitt) and Howard 'Chimney' Han (Kenneth Choi) are audited by the IRS. Buck also meets a 'death doula', Natalia, and considers a new relationship with her as he realizes he has been given a second chance at life.

The episode will also see Ravi Panikkar (Anirudh Pisharody) back at the 118 full-time. Ravi had been "off at the academy being what they call a peer instructor," showrunner Kristen Reidel shared at the end of 2022.
But he finally returned in season six episode 14 after Chimney was sent to the academy by Captain Bobby Nash (Peter Krause).
"Ravi's definitely had a lot of growth since we last saw him. His character is stronger; I think that is a great word for him. He has more confidence in himself — he's not the probie character that we saw in season five," said Anirudh recently told HELLO! in our latest Spotlight story.
