Julianne Moore wins Best Actress and Birdman flies high at Critic's Choice Awards
Julianne Moore has had an extraordinary week. Hours after being named as an Oscar nominee for her leading role in , the 54-year-old star emerged triumphant in the Best Actress category at the Critics' Choice Awards. Julianne – also a winner at Sunday's Golden Globes – was clearly delighted as she arrived on stage to accept her trophy.
"One thing I know is that I'm a girl's girl," she said in her speech, before addressing her fellow nominees, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Rosamund Pike and Felicity Jones. "I am so inspired by you all and just honoured to be in your company."

As she accepted her trophy, the British star was surprised on stage by her proud husband John Krasinski, who ran on to give her a big hug. "He's presenting next," smiling Emily explained to the crowd. Following on from their Golden Globe success, Patricia Arquette and 's JK Simmons were named best supporting actress and actor.
