Solange Knowles shares son's touching message after she loses wedding ring
Solange Knowles' 11-year-old son Daniel Jules Smith Jr brought a smile back to his mother's face with a heart-warming message after the singer lost her wedding ring during Mardi Gras festivities in New Orleans on Thursday. Beyoncé's younger sister took to Twitter to share the sweet moment with her son with her 2.2 million followers.
Solange Knowles shared her son's heart-warming words of comfort
"My son said, mom I'm just happy YOU didn't fly off the float, & that your safe, & that you still get to have the love you have. *tears dried," she wrote.
The 29-year-old reportedly lost her ring when she was enjoying the carnival celebrations as the Honorary Muse to local all-female group, the Krewe of Muses, on an impressive stiletto-shaped float.
While she was throwing beads into the cheering crowds, Solange's art deco inspired ring, given to her by husband Alan Ferguson on their wedding day, reportedly slipped off her hand.
Solange’s 1.1 million Instagram followers will no doubt be familiar with the ring as the singer often shares snaps of the dazzling piece, which features two facing diamond stones set on an open gold band, a unique creation designed by Solange herself and fine jewellery designer Lorraine Schwartz.

Shortly before joining the celebrations along St Charles Avenue Parade, the stylish star posted a video on Instagram to showcase her blue and green carnival-inspired Moschino dress.
The hitmaker also took the opportunity to share her excitement at being awarded the title of Honorary Muse by the city of New Orleans, a recognition of her contribution to the arts.
"Aaaaaand it begins!!!! #turnupmardigras," she wrote in the photo's caption. "Thanks to one of my oldest and most lovely friends @itsjeremyscott for making me feel like a real Mardi Gras Queen in @moschino. So honored to be your Queen of Muses #kreweofmuses !!! A reward was later offered by event organisers to anyone if they could find the ring. "Honorary Muse Solange lost her wedding ring between Toledano and Foucher," the explained in a Facebook post. "Reward if found. Contact info@kreweofmuses.org."
Despite the sadness of losing her ring, the grateful star thanked the city of New Orleans on Twitter for honoring her with the symbolic Key to the City.

“Also, I can't put into words how grateful I am to be given the Key to the City! NEW ORLEANS, from the bottom of my soul, I am so thankful” she wrote on Instagam alongside a selfie in which she held the key.
New Orleans is clearly close to the songstress's heart, as it was where she and music video director Alan tied the knot in November 2014, in a spectacular three-day ceremony with family and friends.
Tina Knowles, the singer’s mother, revealed days after her daughter’s wedding that there wasn’t a dry eye on the place” when the couple announced their personalized vows. "They were just so heartfelt and I just think the wedding epitomized Solange as a person and her and Alan’s artistic flair," Tina told.
